Umvoti Municipality will host its annual Heritage Day celebrations on Saturday 30 September 2017 at King Edward Park.
South Africa has a rich, unique and diverse cultural heritage embraced by various cultural groups. Each group embraces, preserves and celebrates its unique culture, and as such, Umvoti residents are invited to join in on the fun and games as local crafters from various cultural groups, showcase their talent with exhibition stalls showcasing various eats, crafts and clothing.
Local performers will also be there to entertain the crowds while a dedicated kiddie’s corner will ensure that the little ones are kept entertained while their parents learn more about the different heritages that exist in Umvoti.
The celebrations will kick-off at 9am with a parade of all Umvoti cultural groups. This procession will start at 9am from the Town Hall, and make its way to King Edward Park where the fare will be officially opened by the Mayor, His Worship Councillor TC Ngubane.
